Reduce Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions

Completing annual GHG emissions inventories will enable us to establish measurable reduction targets that are aligned with our commitments to the environment and the provincial goal of reducing emissions by 33% by 2020.

Energy Conservation

Working with our strategic partners including BC Hydro Powersmart, World Wildlife Fund and other organizations we will continually assess our energy consumption rates, prepare a corporate strategy on energy conservation and set measurable goals for reducing our energy consumption.

Waste Reduction

A longer-term, ongoing objective is to reduce waste leaving our sites and going to landfill by reducing waste generation at source through sustainable purchasing policies and environmentally sound operational practices.

Sustainability

WMG is committed to continually improving our environmental performance, the effectiveness of our Environmental Management System and incorporating sound environmental management practices into our day-to-day business. The environment, along with socio-cultural and economic conditions will continue to be at top of mind as we develop our sustainability strategy. We plan to use internationally accepted analytical methods to assess our current position and how we can effectively move forward.
